COLLAGE

Look what I figured out how to do... Picasa 3 from google is awsome!

Expect to see some more of these!
I will make it bigger but I need to make the size of the blog bigger.

I PASSED!!!!

I am now a Nationally Certified EMT. It took me two attempts at the test but I finally passed. I took the EMT course last semester at Mt. San Jacinto, which was a tuff class. You had to pass the mid-term with an 80% to continue in the class, then you had to have an 80% in the class going into the final and then pass the final test with an 80%. I was able to accomplish all that and pass all the practical tests as well. They set the class up like that because you have to pass the National Test with an 80%. All the studying and hard work was worth it. I had a lot of good resources to help me along the way. I have many friends that are fire fighters, paramedics, doctors that were very willing to help me.
The next step is to get licensed with the county and get my ambulance drivers license, then I can apply to some of the local hospitals to be an EMT in an emergency room, and apply to some of the ambulance transport companies around the city. (i.e. AMR)
Its very exciting to get one step closer to becoming a fire fighter.

SLOW HEALING

Taking an extra day to recover from my accident. Still have a minor headache and taking pain medication. My eye is getting darker and looks worse but the swelling has gone down.
Thanks again for all the love, prayers and thoughts from all my family and friends.

NO MORE FOOTBALL

Thursday night was a scary one..... I was asked to play in a flag football game with some friends so of course I jumped on the opportunity to play. It was a pretty competitive game and I made some important plays to get the game into over time. I remember the whole game up until over time, then its a blur. The next thing I remember is hearing people talking over me and saying the ambulance is on the way, they called my house and that Brooke and my parents were on their way. I had know idea what had happened. Before I knew it the paramedics were loading me on the back board, putting me in the ambulance and starting an IV. I was pretty out of it; repeating questions, asking what was going on and clearly I had a concussion.
Supposedly I dove to make a game winning touchdown in the end zone, and when I came down my face/head hit the ground and the defender landed on me. I was laying face down on the ground, unconscious and not breathing for 20-30 seconds. There was a nurse and a MD on the sidelines which gave me immediate attention when this happened. I am very grateful for all those that helped in the incident and reacted quickly to get emergency personnel to the field.
I really don't remember everything. I was pretty confused. Even though it was a serious accident and I was being treated as a trauma patient I was still cracking jokes. i.e... I hope my feet don't stink too bad as they were taking off my football cleats. ha
Once at the hospital the doctor quickly examined me and I was rushed off to get a CT scan on my head, neck and back. The CT scan showed that I had a small hematoma near the crown of my head. This is a small bleed and it was about the size of a dime. The result from slamming my head on the ground and maybe someone landing on my head jarred my brain against my skull creating a tare allowing blood to come through the brain tissue. The doctors wanted to keep me over night to monitor my condition and make sure it did not worsen. After a lot of sleep and pain meds and another CT scan I was able to come home yesterday afternoon. The second CT scan showed that the bleed did not get any bigger and that was a positive. So now I am home resting and taking it easy. I still have a gnarly headache and my face is pretty swollen. I took these pictures on the way home from the hospital. I tried to get Brooke to take pictures of me when I was on the backboard and had the C-collar on but she didn't want to.
I am so grateful that I had Brooke at my side the whole time. She would have slept at the hospital with me but they wouldn't let her. I love how much she loves me. So...no more football for me and probably no snowboarding for me this season. This is my third major concussion and the doctor says it would be in my best interest to not have another one. So I will be sticking to softball and golf for now.

Thanks to everyone who showed their love and concern. I appreciate all the thoughts, prayers and love.

MADE ME LAUGH

Most of you know that Brooke and I are living with my parents until we find our own place but we do have to share a bathroom with my brother Cody. Cody is very good about keeping the bathroom clean and we are usually up and out to work before Cody gets up for the day so there really isn't that many problems with the bathroom being too busy.
But the other day I came home from work and had to use the restroom and this is what I saw posted in the bathroom. Made me laugh :)

Of course I blamed it on Cody and said it wasn't me.

FALL 2010 SOFTBALL CHAMPS

THE RINGERS. Fall 2010 Softball Champions

Every Thursday night for the past few months I have been playing softball with these guys. It has been one of the best seasons playing since I started playing men's slow pitch softball. Not only did I get to play with a lot of good friends that are competitive and like to have fun, but we had a great season. We ended up with a record of 10-1-1. Not bad for the first time playing together. Out of all the teams that played this season The Ringers scored the most runs in the season and allowed the least amount of runs. Overall we were really solid. We had some guys playing for their first time, guys with a lot of experience and we put it all together on the field every week. I look forward to playing with these guys in the future...maybe some tournaments.
Brooke was a champion too....she was at every game watching me play.

SUNDAY STROLL

We woke up kinda early Sunday morning, not on purpose but because of day light savings. We didn't want to go back to bed and didn't know what to do until we had to go to church at 1pm. (which is the worst time in our minds for church.) I had an idea to go for a walk on the plateau. It was a beautiful day. Just beyond the entrance for La Cresta is the visitors center and right across the street is a trail head that makes a loop for about 2 miles. We walked the 2 miles and enjoyed the weather and the beautiful scenery. There are a lot of really cool spots on the plateau and of course we always bring our camera.

you can tell in most of the pictures that i had just woke up..haha

PLAYING ON THE PLATEAU

The other week I got home from work and Brooke was getting ready to go somewhere. I asked where are you going babe? She said, "Hurry, get in the shower and put something nice on. We are going to take pictures on the plateau before it gets dark." So we did...it was a lot of fun and here are some of the great pictures we snapped.

WE LOVE CALIFORNIA ADVENTURE

We took off last Wednesday afternoon to Disneyland. We had a ton of fun. We spent almost the whole time in California Adventure. I don't think that we waited longer than 25 minutes to get on a ride, so it wasn't too busy.
We renewed our annual pass while we were there. We will for sure be going a lot more this year than we did last year. It is such a great deal.
Brooke brought the new camera and we got a lot of really good pictures.
We cant wait to bring all our little nieces to Disneyland sometime.

DAY AT THE LAKE

Last weekend, Ashley, Paul and Skyler were down visiting and we took the Wakesetter out saturday morning. The water was a little cold when you jumped in but the weather was great. Sunshine and smooth water. Brooke wasn't able to come out because she was working so I was in charge of the "cannon" moments.... I got some great shots. I love our new camera. Still trying to figure it all out and learn how to do cool stuff with it, but wanted to share with everyone some of the pictures.

NIGHT AT THE TEMPLE

This is the Week of Righteousness for the Murrieta Stake, where the Stake Presidency challenges the stake to attend the temple throughout the week. Brooke and I went last night and spent the afternoon and evening in the temple.  What a tremendous blessing we have to have a temple so close. This is the first time we have been to the temple since they have finished the construction on the exterior. No Scaffolding!
We didn't get any wedding pictures with the temple in the background so we took advantage last night and took some pictures.
